There's hope.

There is light at the end of the tunnel.  I stumbled across this site and am going to use it to help me get approval for a pet pig.

I really am serious about this people.  No joke.

My savior: Pet Pig Zone

LOOK!  Over ten years time, this woman has made a PET PIG ZONING PACKET!!!  I love her.

Peace,

Kelly

I once knew a family (in Indy) that had a pet pig. That thing grew into the biggest, most intrusive "pet" I have ever seen. Get a house pig if you want but please make sure that it will not grow so big as to take over your new home.

Thanks for thte tip! Yes, some grow very large. I'm going to make sure when I get one that I know who his parents were, so I have an idea of his size. =)

I've been following your pet pig saga, and I wish you the best of luck! I live in Indy, too, and I had no idea that you weren't allowed to own "pet pigs". It makes me sad/infuriates me that it's okay to own pigs to slaughter but not to love.

I'm "rooting" for you! Sorry, I just couldn't hold that back. I really do hope you can figure out a way to get your Thermin Nermin. They are SUCH sweeties, and they'll use a litter box, just likes cats and bunnies!

Mmmm....bacon...JK!

Yeah, make sure it is a mini...hmmm..what would you call it? There are toys, miniatures...do pigs come in those sizes. Ooo..wouldn't it be fun to have a little mini-pig. You may live to regret the responsibilities that come along with pet ownership. Are they good watch dogs...er...pigs?

Hi Kelly, Im the woman that has been doing zoning for over 15 years now..I just wanted to thank you for the love.. LOL. I saw your blog on my links page on the internet search. I just wanted to make a comment that there are pigs out there that are intrusive but it is not their falt . these pigs are not trained properly just like kids they were left to be brats. It is very important that you train you pig to be a good pig. When they are full grown at 4 years of age they have the intelligence of a 3 year old child.
Potbellied pigs are one of the cleanest most intelligent animals you can have as a pet and they can grow to be over 150 lbs. Even at this size they are very loving and make a wonderful couch potato..
Please don't fall for the bad breeder claims that theres are tea cup size because that is a lie. There is no such thing as a tea cup pig..
I also want to tell you that the potbelly can be added to the already existing pet laws and when you are ready I will be happy to help with that. I will also help you find the right pig for you. I am a member of a PBP rescue network and we have many special pigs that are in need of good homes all the time.
Thanks again for the compliment and when you need me just call. .www.petpigzone.com
